Nothing is Going On :o(

I literally have not sat at either of my machines since my last post.  So much has happened during this time, but to God be the glory - nothing tragic!

I feel as if my time has been stolen from me.  I am finding it more difficult to quilt when the girls are awake due to the demands of their schoolwork, activities and us having good ole quality time together.  My son has  afterschool/weekend activities and right much homework that requires me playing taxi or teacher.  By the time I can quilt I am way too exhausted!!!

I have written several people in hopes of them sharing how they fit in the things they love to do when they work, have small children, a home to keep up and a significant other to take care of.  Most answers did not apply to me because they were stay at home parents.  I need to come up with a solution that everyone will benefit from - especially me!  Suggestions, PLEEEAAASSSEEE!!!

Until next time, be blessed and have a quiltabulous day!

Change is coming...

Hello all!  I have been very busy getting the next chapter of my life ready.  For the past 10 years I have dreamt of quilting for others.  After I had gotten so many compliments on my Pastors quilt, I am become more let me say,  "Quilt Shy!"  So in the next several months I will be busy updating my blog and other items.

YAY ME!!!

I have a couple of pics to share, First...

This was my first attempt at loops...It was quite strenuous pushing thru my Janome, but I managed fine.  My shoulders and neck was aching for a couple of days.

These next two pictures are my next two big purchases, can you say, SPOILED ROTTEN!!!  Yes, yes I am.   I admittedly scream it from the top of my lungs, "My husband spoils me rotten!"  :o)

I will be bring home my new studio in about 2-3 months, Lord willing.

And this is my dream machine...I have a feeling my hubby will be surprising me with this for my birthday or Christmas...that would be sooo nice - Fingers and toes are crossed and prayers being uttered!

Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen Sit-down Package

Well, I think this is enough for now.  I hope to give more business updates soon.

Until next time, have a quiltabulous day!!!

Time just slipped away from me...

Boy, how time has been slipping away from me!  I have been so consumed with day to day tasks, that I really hadn't had time to blog.  When I do get time, I try to sit at my machines and actually quilt or piece.  Well, let me catch you up:

  • The quilt that was made for my Bishop was delivered in January and she sent me a text saying, "I have no words for how you have blessed me!  I cried - I don't know what to say!!!  Thank you and know that I love you."  I feel honored and she sealed my fate - I A QUILTER, HEAR MY ROAR!!! :o)  To God be the glory, her doctor informed her last week that she was in remission!!!  I am so happy for her.
  • I have basted 2 quilts
  • I finally finished the stacked coins quilt
  • Went looking and played on the HQ16, loved it!!!  I want to do it a couple of more times.  I can see definitely see this in my future (Next year!)
  • planning Gotcha party for the girls in April.  That is going to be a tuff month, we got our 3 year wedding anniversary, daughters bday, and several step shows.
  • My son's step won 1st place at Disney Classic Step National Competition!!!
  • Husband and I are considering more children.
  • Girl scout cookie madness, I have a Daisy Scout and a Brownie Scout.  Both troops did a wonderful job trying to sell cookies!
I think that is it.  Sorry no pics, I just wanted to get a quick post in while I had the time!

Until next time,

Have a Quiltabulous day!

Happy New Year!!!

I pray that all of you had a beautifully, wonderfully, and blessed holiday season.  Truly Jesus is not the only reason for the season, but the reason for me living.  I thank God for coming in the form of a babe and then as a man dying for my sins.  What a wonderful gift!

I have been working like crazy to finish a quilt that I have been working on for my pastor.  She was diagnosed with LMS and is doing well with her treatments.  I felt led to make her a quilt.  I have always wanted to make an autograph quilt and felt that this would be the most opportune time to do so.  My goodness this quilt is HEAVY!  It is approx 96" x 126".  I have stitched in the ditch the vertical and horizontal lines.  I am currently working on the stitching in the ditch of the autographed pieces.  Once I finish that I can quilt the arches in the triangles and FMQ the borders.  Here is a quick peek:
I am terrified to do the arches, but I will practice as much as I can on scraps before attempting on this cutie patutie!

I have also joined the 2012 Free Motion Quilting Challenge over on sewcalgal blog.  Please take a moment to read her blog and join in on the fun!  Just for a little motivation...there will be give aways!  Frances Moore is the instructor for January.  Watch her video and let the fun begin.  I did the doodling on paper and here is what I came up with so far.
I hope to be able to share with you later in the week, the actual FMQing.

Until then have a quiltabulous/quiltastic day!
