What a Weekend!

Hello Everyone!

I love this time of year. I get to see all of the beautiful trees with their leaves changing  to the most awesome colors.  Some are putting up or had put up christmas tree's and I am finding myself smiling and overcome with joy.

We are still doing our living room make over!  Trying the DIY method is very time consuming especially when you are rookies at just about everything.  I think this might be the first year without a christmas tree and decorations (especially, if we keep up at the pace we are going!)  I am sad about this, but we do not want to rush and make a mess of what we trying to accomplish.

Our Thanksgiving was wonderful, I cooked for my family, ate and slept the rest of the day away!  I haven't done that in so long, they thought I was sick...I had been sleep deprived (all thanks go out to Tyler, our dog!)  He is old, partially blind and deaf and extremely cranky!  He wants what he wants when he wants it and not a moment to soon or to late or he will make you pay.  My family is starting to hate him!  I know hate is a strong word, but it beats the alternative, ready to kill him!  Pray for us!

I am working on a quilt that I saw on crazymomquilt blog, stacked coins baby quilt. I am sooo excited.  I get to sew on my brand new Janome MC6600P, her name is Nome!  I had the Horizon in mind and was making payments toward it, but I had to go this weekend and break the news to my dealer, that I can't afford the Horizon at this time.  We are in the process of adopting and we must prepare for the child's(ren) bedroom and for their necessities.  Continuing to make payments on my Horizon will conflict with what I want to do for our new baby(ies)!

I will be taking pics soon to share!

Until then, have a quiltabulous day!

What a Busy Week!

This has been such a crazy, busy week!  We are in the midst of removing the popcorn texture from our living room ceiling.  Did I say we?  Let me rephrase that sentence, I assisted my DH as he was doing the scraping.  Then I caught some stomach virus thank God that is over!  I managed to get in a little quilting, but not as much as I would have liked.  Because I haven't done it in quite some time, I felt as if I was a newbie to more than just free motion quilting.  Here is a pic of the quilt right before I did the binding.  I will get a chance to wash and dry it this week and on to the next project!  :o)

I know you wondering about the FMQ!  Let's just say, I did finish!  I only had about a 6" x 8" rectangle to work on tonight.  It went much better, but I felt like I was rushing it because the rest of the quilt did not come out as well as I would have liked.

I refuse to say that I did horrible, I just won't!  This was my first attempt and I am so excited that I made it through without QUITTING, to God be the glory!

Until next week, have a quiltabulous day!

My First Post

Hello Everyone!

After reading so many of the wonderful quilting blogs, I decided that it would be a shame not to join.

With creating this blog, I am conquering one of my phobias - being the center of attention.  I am the one who loves to work behind the scene!  After some thought, I figured this could be a form of therapy for me.  Yes, I believe in going to the doctors, but for this phobia, I would rather spend my money on fabric than a co-pay!  In this setting I can share my gift and get the opportunity to meet other fabulous quilters.

So let's begin!  Here is a quilt that I am currently working on. I am good at piecing, but I this will be my first go at FMQ!  I am trying to stipple, who said that stippling is easy?

NOT!  For some reason my brain don't cooperate with my hands and my hands don't move fast or slow enough for my foot!  I just don't understand, on my (3) scrap samples it seemed to be going so well, then when I started on the actual quilt, it just went from ooh ooh, ok, ooh noo, ok, ok, and then needlebreak.

I am not giving up, I WILL get it - I just gotta!  :o)

Until next time, be blessed and have a quiltabulous day!
